 Introduction
I examined the kinship relationships of marriages appearing in Greek Bronze Age traditions.
A survey of 335 marriages where both the bride's and groom's ancestors could be traced yielded the following results:
nd-degree relative: 12 couples
rd-degree relative: 25 couples
th-degree relative: 43 couples
th-degree relative: 20 couples
th-degree relative: 26 couples
th-degree relative: 17 couples
th-degree relative: 11 couples
th-degree relative: 8 couples
th-degree relative: 4 couples
th-degree relative: 10 couples
th-degree relative: 3 couples
th-degree relative: 3 couples
th-degree relative: 3 couples
th-degree relative: 2 couples
th or higher-degree relative: 148 couples
Marriages within the eighth degree of kinship accounted for 45 percent.
Even marriages beyond the eighth degree may fall within the eighth degree if they involve marriages not appearing in the traditions.
